Abstract

  • The export value through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in October 2024 increased compared to September 2024, namely from US$996.23 million to US$1,037.40 million or an increase of 4.13 percent. When compared to October 2023, North Sumatra's exports increased by 9.39 percent.
  • The group of goods that experienced the largest decrease in October 2024 compared to September 2024 was the group of various chemical products, which decreased by US$7.00 million (-5.57%) followed by the tobacco group, which decreased by US$5.99 million (-22.18%). The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value was the group of animal/vegetable fats & oils, which increased by US$53.28 million (13.31%), followed by the group of organic chemicals with an increase of US$3.39 million (7.41%).
  • Exports to China in October 2024 were the largest at US$162.50 million, followed by the United States at US$107.33 million and India at US$84.94 million, with the contribution of all three reaching 34.20 percent.
  • According to the main export destination countries in October 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest at US$404.78 million (39.02%).
