Abstract

Human development in North Sumatra continues to progress. In 2020, the Human Development Index (HDI) of North Sumatra reached 71.77. This figure increased by 0.03 points or grew by 0.04 percent compared to 2019.
Babies born in North Sumatra in 2020 have the hope of being able to live up to 69.10 years, 0.15 years longer than the previous year.
In 2020, children who are 7 years old have the hope of enjoying 13.23 years of education, 0.08 years longer than in 2019.
On average, the population aged 25 years and over had taken education for 9.54 years, 0.09 years longer than the previous year.
In 2020, the people of North Sumatra make ends meet with an average per capita expenditure of 10.42 million rupiah per year, a decrease of 229 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
