Abstract

  • The total workforce in February 2021 was 7.479 million people, an increase of 129 thousand people compared to August 2020. In line with the increase in the number of the workforce, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased by 0.72 percentage points.
  • The open unemployment rate (TPT) in February 2021 was 6.01 percent, down 0.90 percentage points compared to August 2020 and up 1.30 percentage points compared to February 2020.
  • The working population was 7,030 million people, an increase of 188 thousand people from August 2020. Employment that experienced the largest percentage increase compared to August 2020 was the Financial Services and Insurance Sector (0.34 percentage points). While the sector that experienced the largest decline was the Manufacturing Industry (0.56 percentage points)
  • As many as 4.159 million people (59.17 percent) work in informal activities, a decrease of 0.45 percentage points compared to August 2020.
  • The percentage of underemployed workers fell by 1.79 percentage points, likewise the percentage of part-time workers fell by 1.52 percentage points compared to August 2020.
  • There are 694 thousand people (6.44 percent of the working age population) who have been affected by Covid-19. Consisting of unemployment due to Covid-19 (59 thousand people), not the Labor Force (BAK) because of Covid-19 (38 thousand people), temporarily unemployed due to Covid-19 (34 thousand people), and the working population who experienced a reduction in working hours because of Covid-19 (563 thousand people)
