Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib)
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • In March 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 117.05, an increase of 2.06 percent compared to the NTP in February 2021, which was 114.69.
  • The increase in NTP in March 2021 was caused by an increase in NTP in two sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 4.02 percent and NTP in the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 0.15 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the other three sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.20 percent, NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.27 percent, and NTP of the Fisheries subsector by 0.44 percent.
  • Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In March 2021, there was rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.28 percent.
  • The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province in March 2021 amounted to 118.77 or an increase of 1.83 percent. compared to NTUP the previous month.
