• Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
• In December 2020, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 115.21 or an increase of 1.06 percent compared to the NTP in November 2020, which was 114.00.
• The increase in NTP in December 2020 was due to an increase in NTP in four sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticultural Crops sub-sector by 3.37 percent, NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 2.11 percent, NTP for the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 0.35 percent, and NTP for the Fisheries subsector by 0 , 68 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the Food Crops subsector decreased by 1.45 percent.
• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In December 2020, there was rural inflation in North Sumatra of 0.88 percent.
• North Sumatra Province Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) December 2020 amounted to 116.68, an increase of 1.70 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
