The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting North Sumatra through four entrances in October 2020 reached 352 visits, an increase of 228.97 percent compared to those who came in September 2020 to reach 107 visits. Meanwhile, when compared to the same month in 2019, the number of foreign tourists in October 2020 decreased by 98.43 percent, from 22,438 visits in October 2019 to 352 visits.
In October 2020, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the largest visitors with 12 visits or 3.41 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in North Sumatra in October 2020 reached an average of 36.09 percent, or an increase of 5.06 points compared to September 2020 of 31.03 percent.
The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star hotels in October 2020 reached 1.51 days, or decreased by 0.09 points compared to September 2020.
The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra via Kualanamu International Airport during October 2020 reached 85,537 people, or an increase of 14.75 percent compared to September 2020 which reached 74,545 people.
The number of (domestic) inter-island sea transport passengers departing in October 2020 was recorded at 1,128 people, an increase of 320.90 percent over the previous month of 268 people.
