Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

In October 2020, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 112.01 or an increase of 1.42 percent compared to the NTP in September 2020, which was 110.44.

The increase in NTP in October 2020 was caused by an increase in NTP in three sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticultural Crops sub-sector by 1.63 percent, NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 2.50 percent, and NTP in the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 0.76 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the Food Crops subsector decreased by 0.27 percent and the NTP of the fisheries subsector decreased by 0.37 percent.

Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect rural inflation / deflation figures. In October 2020, there was rural inflation in North Sumatra of 0.55 percent.

The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Businesses (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province in October 2020 was 112.50 or an increase of 1.82 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
