• The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in January 2020 reached 20,539 visits, a decrease of 14.82 percent compared to those coming in December 2019 reaching 24,113 visits. Similarly, when compared with the same month in 2019, the number of foreign tourists in January 2020 increased by 17.57 percent, from 17,470 visits in January 2019 to 20,539 visits.
• In the period of January 2020, the number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara increased by 17.57 percent compared to the same period in 2019, from 17,470 visits in 2019 to 20,539 visits in 2020.
• In January 2020, tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 8,846 visits or 43.07 percent of the total tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.
• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in Sumatera Utara in January 2020 reached an average of 48.06 percent, down 3.03 points compared to December 2019 of 51.09 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests in star hotels in January 2020 reached 1.45 days, or up 0.07 points compared to December 2019.
• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during January 2020 reached 288,819 people, up 30.78 percent compared to December 2019 which reached 220,846 people.
• The number of passengers of inter-island sea transportation departing in January 2020 was 21,342 people, up 29.38 percent compared to the previous month of 16,496 people.
